Twelve colonies, descended from the ancient tribes of Kobol, became a powerful civilization that stretched across the stars. Humanity’s great technology allowed for travel faster than the speed of light, a high standard of living for its citizens, and the power—perhaps—to create life itself. Man created the cylons to serve their needs, but the cylons rebelled. They evolved. And now they’ve returned after 40 years to destroy the colonies. Battlestar Galactica is a relic of a battleship, called back to war on the day it was to be decommissioned. Crewed by a disparate group of officers, soldiers, pilots, and civilians, it leads and defends a small fleet of ships that may be all that’s left of mankind. Their goal is a distant myth, a place of legend from the ancient scrolls—a planet called Earth. The crew of Galactica and the people of the fleet must overcome the daily challenges of survival and their own personal demons if they hope to escape the ruthless, tireless cylons and find a new home.
