There are 5 factions in Crown of the Emperor: TCG, they are: The Baker Alliance, Democratic Union, Truman-Winthrop, The Choy Corporation, Layton Industries.

Each has their own specialty which sets them apart from the others. Which faction you choose depends on your desired strategy. Remember that the goal is to become the next Emperor, and you do that by raising your own prestige to 40 points, starting at 10.

The Baker Alliance is known for colonizing planets. They receive a +1 Prestige point for every uncontested colony per turn. An uncontested colony is a colony that has no enemy forces on it, and no other player has that same card in play.

Keeping a colony uncontested can be very tricky. Players must pack their deck with lots of different planets as well as Military cards to fight off any other claims.
