Whether players use miniatures or not, they should find the Miniatures Handbook an excellent resource for enhancing all aspects of D&D game play. In addition to laying down guidelines for skirmishes and tactical moves, the new handbook contains new feats, spells, magic items, and prestige classes, and is one of the few titles to add new base classes to the D&D realm, including the “favored soul” and the “warmage.” Other important features include: new monsters with full D&D statistics, competitive scenarios for engaging miniatures combat, cover art and design style in the mode of other D&D rulebooks, and extensive illustrations of the new miniatures.

In addition to these features, the MH expands rules for three-dimensional, head-to-head miniatures play for both skirmish and mass battle conflicts. The recently released Dungeons & Dragons v.3.5 core rulebooks include rules for using the miniatures, as well.
